Concept Project: The Dream Dome Village

The Dream Dome Village has been designed to be a multi-functional and indestructible environment – safe, secure, spacious, and luxurious – complimented with a multitude of accommodations for the hobbies, crafts, and art that its occupants bring with them. Together, with the many exercise and sport activities, the Dream Dome Village will be a one-of-a-kind community for people that are 50 years and over.

Village Layout:

Green Concept Community

Dome Village layout – 6 residential domes surround one social activity dome. All of these are surrounded by gardens, athletic fields, and tennis courts. All areas with vehicle access will utilize porous paving – a wonderful technology that allows water to infiltrate back into the ground rather than creating more runoff. By creating a hybrid parking lot of both Grasspave2 and Gravelpave2, construction will result in no more runoff in these areas than one would expect to see from a standard lawn.

By incorporating the unique dome shape with the most recent environmentally friendly technologies available on the market, this community gets the best of both worlds – an aesthetically pleasing, structurally sound residence that meets FEMA standards for near-absolute protection from disaster and meets LEED criteria for Green Building.

DOME PERIMETER: (Outside the Dome)

220’ Diameter, 50+ feet high, insulated concrete Dome
Parking circle with two parking spaces for each apartment, including one handicap space
A 1000 ft. long perimeter walk alongside planters and gardens, cultivated by residents
A 900 ft. long perimeter ‘power walk’ with dips and rises between the up and down ramps
A second green belt with planters and gardens, cultivated by resident hobby-gardeners
Glass enclosed solariums for growing plants and a patio for visiting with neighbors and friends

Each Residential dome consists of an upper level and a lower level that can be easily access from the street level with ramps that lead to each apartment.

LOWER LEVEL:

Lower level consists of 34,000 sq. ft. for the promenade, apartments, and Village Court
Lower promenade gives access to the solariums and provides covered entry to the apartments
Apartments have both a front door from the promenade and a back door to the Village Court
Village Courts are designed as picturesque themes representing different countries and cultures
‘Sky Shell’ Special Effects, with fixed and moving sky projections in the 50’ high Village Court
‘perfect skies’ year round

dynamic ‘thunderstorms’ (without the rain)

The Village Court can be accessed from outside through a ‘Main Street’ located at opposite ends

of the dome, featuring washrooms, and an elevator which will carry you to all levels of the dome
