Grasspave2 and Gravelpave2 are helping to reduce the Urban Heat Island Effect. The UHI occurs due to the concentration of hard pavements and rooftops in cities collecting solar energy and releasing it back as radiated heat energy. Urban areas can be up to 6-8 degrees warmer than rural or undeveloped areas.
Porous paving helps reduce the UHI and Grasspave2 and Gravelpave2 are the best of the best. Visit our Urban Heat Island page and see the studies by Sasaki Design Firm and information from The National Center of Excellence on SMART Innovations for Urban Climate and Energy at Arizona State University .

We would love for you to use Grasspave2 and Gravelpave2 for every job. But, we know this is unrealistic. We are big proponents of all forms of porous pavements. So, make sure Grasspave2 and Gravelpave2 will work for your specific needs by using this Technology Comparison Chart. If our products are not right for your jobsite, choose from one of the other permeable pavements technologies and come back to revisit us for your next design.
