Project Profile:

Cape Hart Open Space Park

Project Summary

The City of San Diego needed a quality walking path and access road for heavy trucks. Gravelpave2 fit both applications. With ADA compliance and high compressive strength, Gravelpave2 was used in both places.

Address

Soledad Mountain Road & Garnet Ave

Install Size

400 m2 (4300 sq ft)

Project Gallery

The Gravelpave2 walking path from the parking/access road to the main part of the park.
A closer look at the path. The Gravelpave2 will reduce rutting and erosion of the gravel – limiting future maintenance of the path.
One of the City’s utility trucks on the access road to the park. Gravelpave2 has a compressive strength of 5721 psi, nearly 52 times safety factor.
The designers of the project, Garbini and Garbini, Architects, did a nice job by providing a “buffer zone” from the street to the Gravelpave2 area, via the concrete pad. This buffer will reduce long term maintenance on the Gravelpave2 by limiting the turning and acceleration of vehicles, and other stress on the Gravelpave2.
