Project Profile:

Los Padres National Forest

Project Summary

Live Oak Day Campground is regionally famous for Red Rock where people jump about five stories into the water. Gravelpave2 in cashew brown color was laid on top of existing soil, filled with a crumbly cashew brown colored stone material, then the edges were filled in with bark, or asphalt driveway. The barbecue grill areas also are reinforced with GV2, so that they are handicapped accessible (even though the grills are at standing height, higher than recommended for people in wheelchairs). The tables are a new plastic type to eliminate splinters and provide long life. Wheelchair access is on the end with plenty of cantilever. To stay in the park overnight, purchase an Adventure Pass by calling the Los Prietos Ranger Station at 805-967-3481.

Project Gallery

One of several picnic table areas showing a large well drained Gravelpave2 paving. The river is in the background.
The combination of materials is very attractive with Gravelpave2 in cashew brown, large rocks to protect the area, wood chips, and asphalt in the left corner.
All the driveway areas are finished in asphalt and graded toward the porous picnic areas.
Plenty of accessibility around the grills, usually two per area. Cars will probably park on the asphalt leaving the GV2 for walking.
