Project Summary

The design of this open space is very artistic and unique with diagonal straight design lines crossing grass areas. Where they intersect, an outdoor umbrella table with four chairs has been placed. Intermountain Piping supplied the Grasspave2 and also the liner for the river water feature. Fabric is sometimes used underneath the base course on Grasspave2 installations in the Salt Lake City area because of the instability of local soils. The fabric prevents the new base course materials from migrating into subsoils and vice versa. The intent is for the installations to remain structurally sound over a long period of time.

Permeable Pavers were installed in the fire lane access areas using Grasspave2.
Emergency vehicle and maintenance access lane is eight feet wide on the left side of the sidewalk leading up to the main entrance on the backside of this high-rise. Note the bollard on the right side of the fire lane.
Porous Pavers were installed in the fire lane access areas using Grasspave2.
Areas of Grasspave2 blend in well with surrounding turf. This reinforced area is on the edge of the open grass area near the parking lot on the right.
Pervious Pavers were installed in the fire lane access areas using Grasspave2.
MHTN Architects have very creatively introduced small square pavers to indicate traveling diagonal lines across the open space. Grasspave2 doesn’t interfere with the design because the rings and grid are invisible.
