Project Profile:

Pikes Peak Regional Development Center

Project Summary

(from Press Release on Building) The $17.5 million Pikes Peak Regional Development Center, located at 2880 International Circle, will result in greater efficiency and savings in time and money for citizens in Colorado Springs and El Paso County - from a homeowner building a deck to a builder constructing a mall. The Center will eliminate the need for individuals to obtain plan approvals and permits from different agencies located in as many as five locations. The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, El Paso County, the City of Colorado Springs and Colorado Springs Utilities are participants in this model project. The Intergovernmental Agreement for the Pikes Peak Regional Development Review Center was signed April 15, 2003. Since 1966, the City and County have jointly operated a Building Department. Pikes Peak Regional Building Department now serves Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Fountain, Green Mountain Falls, Manitou Springs, Monument and Palmer Lake. Facts The $17.5 million Center is 111,758 square feet situated on 19 acres. 22 acres were purchased for $1.6 million on June 13, 2001. Since then, three acres were sold to 911 for $321,191. Atrium lobby: 12,800 square foot The lobby's glass wall provides a spectacular view of the mountains and connects the North and South building wings. South Wing: 56,700 square feet Pikes Peak Regional Building Department will occupy the first level. Staff of the Colorado Springs Development Review Enterprise, Fire, Traffic and Engineering, and Colorado Springs Utilities will be located on the second floor.
