Project Profile:
University of Colorado Health Sciences Center
Project Summary
In order to restrict traffic around this new campus building Grasspave2 was used for fire lane access where 17th Avenue had been closed off. This is a popular use for Grasspave2 because access is still maintained on the closed street while the property looks nicely landscaped.

Firelane is located between these sidewalks which used to be 17th Avenue. Sections of Grasspave2 split to the north and south at the other side of these buildings.
View of fire lane shown above as it meets with 17th Avenue. Another section goes left around the light pole to the rear of the building shown in the next photo.
You can see where this fire lane meets with the concrete at the removable bollards in the center of the photo at the NE corner
The northern section of fire lane continues around the left side of the fire hydrant, along the raised curved retaining wall toward the building in the background. See the continuation in the next photo. Another section not shown in photos heads south (behind the camera) from this point.
The northern fire lane continues at the top of the amphitheater straddling the walkway.
This is a good view of the new structures from the northwest corner showing the Grasspave2 fire lane in the foreground curving around the amphitheater which is also a stormwater drainage area.
