Stormwater Management

Helping You Weather the Storm

Specifically designed to address stormwater management issues, all Invisible Structures products are the best at draining or capturing water whether they are used together or separately. Drain water from the surface quickly with Grasspave2, Gravelpave2 and Draincore2. Store and reuse water underground with Rainstore3 and control erosion with Slopetame3. Stormwater will be naturally filtered, and sediments removed when passed through Grasspave2 or Gravelpave2 on its way to a Rainstore3 chamber.

Explore the many features and benefits of choosing Invisible Structures for your stormwater management project.

Meet Stormwater Requirements

For the 12" base course Grasspave2 fire lane, a recent test found a flow rate result of 39.20" per hour of drainage per square foot. And you can use less square footage with Rainstore3 to meet stormwater requirements than competitors require.

Reduce Runoff

Porous pavers play a crucial role in stormwater management, allowing rainwater to infiltrate the ground naturally. Traditional paving elements contribute to stormwater runoff, which can lead to flooding and water pollution.

Capture Runoff

Rainstore3 can capture runoff, allowing water to be stored and re-used for non-potable functions or to be temporarily detained until it can be absorbed back into the subbase, replenishing aquifiers.

Recharge Groundwater

By allowing rainwater to percolate through the pavement and into the soil below, porous paving helps replenish underground aquifers, which are essential for sustaining water supplies and supporting ecosystems. This can be particularly important in urban areas where impervious surfaces cover large portions of the landscape, limiting the natural infiltration of rainwater and contributing to groundwater depletion.

Remove Pollutants

Any installation with Gravelpave2 or Grasspave2 as the infill method can eliminate toxins and other unwanted elements. As water filters through our products and underlying layers of aggregate or soil, contaminants such as sediment, oil, grease, and heavy metals are trapped and filtered out. This process helps improve water quality in nearby streams, rivers, and lakes, reducing the harmful effects of pollution on aquatic ecosystems and public health. When used in conjunction, Rainstore3 creates a maintenance-free water chamber.

Mitigate the Urban Heat Island Effect

Traditional asphalt and concrete surfaces absorb and retain heat, leading to higher temperatures in urban areas. In contrast, our porous paving products help to dissipate heat and create a cooler microclimate. This can improve comfort, reduce energy consumption, and lessen the strain on urban infrastructure during heatwaves.

Recycled Materials

All Invisible Structures products are made from 100% recycled plastics (HDPE & PP – post-consumer and post-industrial), making them safe for our underground environments and waterways, and promoting a circular economy.
