Project Summary

GV2 was used as an ADA access trail. In spring pf 2002, they had a heavy downpour which dropped 6” in a day and a half. Some gravel washed out of the GV2 in one area where water flowed in a stream over top of the path. Repair was underway readjusting the same product. Note: In areas where flooding can occur, use a concrete binder with 3/4” gravel tumbled together and then misted and covered for 48 hours.

Gravel Paver was installed at the Oakdale Nature Preserve, Freeport, Illinois, using Gravelpave2.
Gravelpave2 in gray rings molded onto non-woven polyester filter fabric is pinned down and filled with warm colored sandy gravel.
Aggregate Paving was installed at the Oakdale Nature Preserve, Freeport, Illinois, using Gravelpave2.
The gray rings aren’t very noticeable. Only a few rings can be found in this photograph in the lower right corner. These unobtrusive rings help maintain the natural woodsy appearance of the trail.
Gravel Reinforcement was installed at the Oakdale Nature Preserve, Freeport, Illinois, using Gravelpave2.
ADA testing results performed in California can be reviewed on this web site in the testing section. The even profile of the mat with rings keeps the fill material from shifting under the weight of wheelchairs, even quads. This surface is excellent for strollers too.
